Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) has won a place on Standard Chartered’s global panel for the first time, alongside regular magic circle advisers Allen & Overy, Clifford Chance, Linklaters and Slaughter and May.
The firm had previously advised the bank on a range of transactions, but was limited to having a presence on specialist panels such as investment banking.
The panel is also said to include Hogan Lovells and Baker & McKenzie, with the latter recently hiring Standard Chartered’s former group head of legal David Brimacombe as a consultant.
