Paris Bar gives green light to Paul Hastings merger

Paul Hastings Janofsky & Walker can finally seal its merger with France’s Moquet Borde & Associes after gaining approval from the Paris Bar Association.

The US firm originally voted on the merger with the French independent in December last year with the tie-up becoming official at the beginning of February.

While Paul Hastings has been given the nod by the Paris bar, Morgan Lewis, the latest US firm to enter the French market after recruiting a 15-strong team of former De Pardieu Brocas Maffei & Leygonie lawyers, is still waiting for approval.

As exclusively revealed by The Lawyer, the firm is opening a French office to add to its European network spanning London, Frankfurt and Brussels.
