CANADIAN firm Strikeman Elliott has established an exclusive association with Prague firm Calfa Bartosik a Partneri.
The managing partner of Strikeman Elliott's London office, Calin Rovinescu, said as part of the association two Canadian lawyers would be based in the Czech firm's office.
He added that Strikeman Elliott had been dealing with a number of Czech firms since 1992.
“It is good, from our perspective, to have one source of information and one referral point,” he said.
“We provide the international advice and the Czech firm provides the local advice.”
Rovinescu said there were seven Czech lawyers in Calfa Bartosik's office.
Senior partner at the firm is former Czechoslovakian prime minister Marian Calfa who led the country from 1989 to 1992.
The firms will focus on business enterprises and government authorisations such as privatisations, mergers and acquisitions, and financing.
