Eversheds German ally bags McDermott Munich partner

Eversheds German alliance partner Heisse Kursawe has scooped a team of corporate lawyers from McDermott Will & Emery for its Munich office.

Jörg Kretschmer, who joined Heisse Kursawe earlier this week, is one of the founding members of McDermott’s Munich office, which opened in 2002.

He has been followed from the US firm by one associate. A second associate who left McDermott last year will also be moving to the Heisse Kursawe office in the next few months.

Heisse Kursawe managing partner Matthias Heisse told The Lawyer: “We are very happy that Jörg is joining us. We are expanding at a very fast rate at the moment, especially since we joined the Eversheds network. Our clients are very happy that we are part of this network and we have been acting on more and more complex transactions.”

Heisse Kursawe became part of the Eversheds network in June 2005. It client list includes AIG, Allied Irish Bank and Investec and Sunrise Senior Living.
