Nabarros cleans up on county waste contracts

Nabarro Nathanson has won three competitive tenders to provide advice on waste management projects to UK public sector clients.

Led by projects partner James Snape, the firm has won roles advising Somerset Waste Partnership, North Tyneside Metropolitan Council and the Borough of Telford and Wrekin on waste disposal procurements and waste management strategies.

Each appointment was won through a competitive tender, with the Telford and Wrekin role involving a beauty parade against sector rivals Eversheds, Pinsent Masons and Trowers & Hamlins.

Snape led the team on all three tenders with fellow projects partner Elizabeth Copper, assisted by associates Kerin Kimber, Will Santer, Janet Lewis and James Hartley.

The firm’s appointment to advise Somerset Waste Partnership involves a joint procurement by five waste collection authorities and Somerset County Council for the provision of waste collection and recycling services across the county. The work is expected to set a template for other counties.

The appointment by North Tyneside Metropolitan Council will see Nabarros advise on the council’s waste management strategy and options regarding its existing waste management contract.
