HBJ Gateley Wareing acts for Lancs CCC on refurb

HBJ Gateley Wareing has picked up the mandate to act for Lancashire County Cricket Club on the redevelopment of its Old Trafford ground.

The programme, which includes £32m of new investment, will ensure the future of international cricket at the famous Manchester venue after the game’s governing body, the England and Wales Cricket Board, said no more test matches would be played there without major redevelopment.

Manchester real estate chief Andrew Piatt led the HBJ Gateley Wareing team, with property partner Gareth Atkinson and construction partner Neil Wilson.

Planning permission has now been granted to allow the club to develop new media facilities, stands and pitches, and to extend its indoor cricket school.

Commenting on the approval of planning permission, Piatt said: “The decision is a result of a lot of hard work and we wish Lancashire County Cricket Club and its development partner ASK Developments every success.

“We’re pleased that this success continues to strengthen our reputation in the stadia sector.”
