Gowling WLG announced that The Québec Bar has distinguished Luc Deshaies, a partner in Gowling WLG’s Montréal office, as an Advocatus Emeritus in recognition of his leadership and remarkable achievements in the area of labour and employment law. Deshaies is the first professional at Gowling WLG to obtain this distinction.
A highly reputed labour and employment lawyer, Deshaies represents employers in complex collective and individual labour relations matters, and has appeared before all judicial and administrative labour tribunals in Québec.
A former president of the Montréal Bar, Deshaies is also a member of the Paris Bar, and was recently elected a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. He is frequently identified as one of the country’s top lawyers by leading legal publications and rankings organizations, including Chambers Canada, Lexpert, The Best Lawyers in Canada and the Who’s Who Legal series.
Established in 2007, the Advocatus Emeritus distinction is bestowed on only the most accomplished members of the Québec Bar.
