SJ Berwin raids Freshfields for German trio

SJ Berwin has raided Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer for a three-lawyer IP team in Frankfurt, led by partner Stefan Krueger.

Krueger will be joined by associates Manuela Finger and Manuel Biehler when he moves to SJ Berwin on 15 January.

Krueger has been a partner at Freshfields since 2002 and most recently advised Nintendo on the launch of the Wii console in Europe.

“SJ Berwin has a strong IP capability in London and they were looking for someone to take care of it in Germany,” said Krueger.

“They made me a very attractive offer and I am very much looking forward to join them,” he added.

Krueger will be head of IP for SJ Berwin in Germany. The firm has a total of 85 lawyers split between offices in Berlin and Frankfurt.
