Linklaters boosts Amsterdam with addition of De Brauw restructuring chief

Linklaters has hired the head of the restructuring practice at Dutch independent De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek to boost for its Amsterdam office.

Jan Willem de Boer joins the magic circle firm after over 12 years as a partner at De Brauw, where he advised Dutch public and private entities on both restructuring and M&A transactions.

Traditionally De Brauw has been known for its partner loyalty, with few partner-level losses in recent years. However, January 2011 saw the departure of IP partner Simon Dack and counsel Marlou van de Braak to Howrey break-away Hoyng Monegier.

De Boer is Linklaters’ 10th Amsterdam-based partner. His hire follows the 2008 recruitment of Paul Kuipers from Simmons & Simmons. Kuipers initially joined Linklaters as an of counsel but was promoted to partner last year.
