Dentons has named Warsaw partner Pawel Debowski as the sole chair of its European real estate group in the wake of co-chair Eric Rosedale’s departure to Greenberg Traurig.
Debowski was appointed as co-chair of European real estate earlier this year (6 February 2014) alongside Rosedale. Greenberg Traurig announced Rosedale’s hire as chair of its international real estate practice yesterday (17 June 2014).
Prior to its tripartite merger with SNR Denton and Fraser Milner Casgrain last year (28 November 2012), Debowski was head of real estate in Central and Eastern Europe for European firm Salans. He joined the firm in 2010 from Clifford Chance with a team of lawyers (13 July 2010).
Rosedale held the dual role of co-chair of both the European and global real estate teams at Dentons, with fellow legacy Salans partner Evan Lazar jointly heading up the global real estate team. Prague-based Lazar will remain in this position at Dentons, as well as chairing the firm’s European board. The replacement for Rosedale as global co-chair is yet to be decided.
The firm said the merger had created a real estate team consisting of over 600 people worldwide, including over 200 lawyers in its 15 European offices. Clients include Starwood Capital Group, Tristan Capital Partners, Heitman International, Deka, Union Investment and GLL Real Estate Partners.
