•Rossendale-based law firm Mulderrigs has appointed Yasmin Sagir as a conveyancing executive in its property team. Sagir is currently sitting for her licensed conveyancing course. She joins from Nelson-based firm Bukhari & Co.

•Leeds-based firm Shulmans has promoted Mark Lumley to associate. Lumley joined the firm two years ago after qualifying as a solicitor in 2000.

•Morton Fraser has promoted seven lawyers in its Edinburgh and Glasgow offices: Mignonne Khazaka and Rachel Shewan have been promoted to senior associate; Anna Greig and Iain Wisely have been promoted to associate; and Neil Bon, Graeme Dickson and Pamela McKay have been promoted to senior assistants.

Watson Burton has hired Helena Motherway as an associate in the personal injury group from Eversheds‘ Newcastle office.

•Specialist pensions firm Sacker & Partners has appointed Ian D’Costa as an associate from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where he was part of the pensions team.

Gibson Dunn & Crutcher has appointed Glenn Pollner as a partner in its New York office. Pollner was previously a partner with Dewey Ballantine.

•Vinson & Elkins has rehired Christopher Carr as counsel and co-chair of the climate change practice group. He joins from the World Bank, where he was senior legal adviser to the carbon finance unit. Carr previously worked at Vinson & Elkins from 1998 to 2005.

•MFG Solicitors has hired Harjie Singh Bindra as an associate in the commercial litigation team. He joins from the Solihull office of Lyons Davidson.

•Paris-based firm Sokolow Carreras & Associés has expanded its M&A team with the hire of Nathalie Le Bris as a partner and Christine Audurier as an associate. Both arrive from Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe and will join the firm on 3 September.

•Sheridans has hired Rex Nwakodo to head its company, corporate and commercial department. He joins from Wallace, where he led the commercial technology team.
