North West firm Brabners Chaffe Street will merge with Liverpool firm Bremners Solicitors on 1 May to create a social housing powerhouse for the region.

North West firm Brabners Chaffe Street will merge with Liverpool firm Bremners Solicitors on 1 May to create a social housing powerhouse for the region.

Bremners specialises in commercial and property law, with particular expertise in the social housing sector. The merger is expected to add some £2.7m to Brabners’ 2008 turnover of £31m as well as eight partners and 30 staff.

Managing partner Michael Brabner said: “The merger will make our social housing capability stronger. Bremners act for all the key players in the North West social housing sector.”

Bremners senior partner David Renison, who has helped manage the tie-up, will move over to Brabners in a senior management role, while head of Bremners’ registered social landlord (RSL) department Alistair Fletcher will manage the combined RSL department after the firms have merged.
