Finnish firm Hannes Snellman Attorneys At Law has bolstered its northern Europe practice through a tie-up with Helsinki-rival ETL Law Offices.
ETL, which has offices in Helsinki, Moscow, St Petersburg and Ukraine, will become part of Hannes Snellman, creating the largest Nordic firm operating in Russia and the CIS.
The bolt-on increases Hannes Snellman by more than 30 lawyers across Russia and the Ukraine, as well as a seven-lawyer Russia desk in the Finnish capital, Helsinki.
Hannes Snellman has existing offices in Helsinki and Beijing.
Hannes Snellman managing partner Johan Aalto said in a statement: “Thanks to our practical northern European approach and our experience we are in an excellent position compared with our Anglo-Saxon competitors in Russia.”
