White & Case is to keep 15 of its 17 qualifying trainees on as NQs this spring.

The 88 per cent retention rate is an improvement on the 75 per cent of trainees the US-founded firm kept on last autumn.

Training partner Justin Benson said: “The demand for English law qualified lawyers continues to grow in London and across our offices globally, and consistently high retention rates in London reflect the quality of our trainee programme and our success in recruiting, retaining and nurturing the very best young lawyers.”

White & Case also confirmed it has taken on a second trainee from the collapsed firm King & Wood Mallesons, after originally hiring one.
