Nottingham-based senior associate Rachel Harvey, who joins the firm from Shakespeare Martineau, has extensive experience in advising global organisations on all aspects of corporate immigration and workforce planning.
Rachel is also an expert in assisting organisations – such as retailers, sports organisations and global technology companies – and their non-EEA employees, to ensure they are able to retain valuable talent post-Brexit.
Advice includes obtaining and maintaining sponsor licences, and the relocation of non-EEA family members of UK nationals of UK nationals returning to the UK following years of working abroad.
Shoosmiths national head of employment, Paul Stokey, said: “Rachel’s appointment is a boost to our growing employment team. Her experience with a range of high calibre clients, knowledge of this complex subject, coupled with the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead for our clients as the country prepares to leave the EU, means she is an important strategic hire as we seek to complement the team and work towards our vision to being the leading national employment team in the UK.”
Rachel said: “I am delighted to have joined Shoosmiths. It’s an ambitious firm, both in terms of its vision for the future of the employment team and the Nottingham office. Having a specialist immigration department within the team means we can offer our clients significant expertise in corporate and personal immigration matters on a firm-wide basis. I very much look forward to having a pivotal role in the business for many years.”
