Australian firm Minter Ellison has hired three partners from Jones Day for its Hong Kong office.
Anne Ko, Barbara Mok and Katherine U – all partners in Jones Day’s Hong Kong office – will join Minter Ellison in Hong Kong in the New Year, giving the firm a boost in capital markets and M&A.
The three partners will practise Hong Kong law, working with Chinese and Hong Kong clients.
“Their arrival further strengthens our capability as demand for capital markets and M&A advice continues to grow in Greater China and we expand our core practice areas of M&A and capital markets – particularly in the resources and infrastructure sectors – through our Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing offices,” said Minter Ellison international managing partner Mark Green.
The three partners’ arrival closely follows the hire of Geraldine Johns-Putra, an ex-Linklaters lawyer who ran her own legal consulting practice, and Anthony Chan, previously a counsel with Hogan Lovells in Hong Kong. Both are capital markets and M&A lawyers and have been appointed as senior consultants at the firm.
