Addleshaw Goddard has hired partners Hussein Damirji and Martin Brown from Patton Boggs and Dentons respectively to launch an office in Qatar.
Damirji specialises in corporate, commercial and high-net worth family office investments and has been based in Qatar since he joined Patton Boggs in March 2008 (31 March 2008). He acts for clients in Iraq, Jordan, the UK, Turkey and the US.
Damirji will be joined by banking and finance partner Martin Brown who joins the firm from Dentons’ Doha office.
Also based in Qatar since 2008, Brown specialises in international finance and has experience of cross-border syndicated financings, debt capital markets, fund formation and management, real estate finance, Islamic finance, general corporate acquisition transactions, and restructurings. They will be supported by a team of associates.
This is the third launch in the Arabian Gulf for Addleshaw Goddard who opened its first office in the region in Dubai in September 2012 (11 July 2012), followed by Oman in January 2013 (15 January 2013).
In May, the firm received regulatory approval to open in Hong Kong (3 May 2013).
