Barlow Lyde & Gilbert (BLG) and Clifford Chance advised on dairy farmer co-operative First Milk’s £61.9m purchase of Dairy Crest’s Haverfordwest and private label cheese businesses. The acquisition will make First Milk the world’s biggest UK-based cheese supplier. BLG advised First Milk, led by corporate partner John Cadman. Financial backer Bank of Scotland was advised by Dundas & Wilson. Clifford Chance advised Dairy Crest, led by London corporate partner Jeff Ziff. Wedlake Bell handled real estate issues for Dairy Crest while Eversheds advised on HR matters.
