Denton Wilde Sapte (DWS) has lost its 14th partner of the year with the departure of environment and safety specialist and departmental head Jacqui O’Keeffe.
O’Keeffe will leave DWS at the end of the year to join Simmons & Simmons although it is thought she will be put on a period of gardening leave. Associate Stephen Shergold will take over as team leader.
O’Keeffe moved to DWS from SJ Berwin in 1989, becoming a partner in 1998. Her practice area includes environmental, health and safety, food safety and product safety.
O’Keeffe is the 14th partner to leave the firm since January. As first reported in The Lawyer (5 December), leveraged finance specialists Chris Fanner and Ian Yeo have also jumped ship, to Herbert Smith.
A spokesperson for DWS told The Lawyer: “We have a strong environment team and her departure will have little or no impact.”
