Bird & Bird has poached top telecommunications and IT partner, Frederique Dupuis-Toubol and 10-strong team of associates from French firm, Jeantet & Associes to set up a new Paris office. Dupuis-Toubol will join Bird & Bird at the end of this year and will be based in the firm's new premises in Paris. She and her team will specialise in local law.
The move can be seen as part of Bird & Bird's continuing strategy to become a truly international presence.
The IT/IP firm already has offices in London, Brussels and Hong Kong and admits it is actively seeking further growth in Europe and further afield. It is currently said to be in merger talks with US firm, Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe.
