Ashurst mid-year turnover up 7.5 per cent” />Ashurst has increased its turnover by 7.5 per cent this half-year compared to the same time last year.
Ashurst’s revenue for the half-year is around £158m, which compares well to last half-year’s £147m but falls short of the stellar 25 per cent growth it had registered in the first half of 2006-07.
Senior partner Geoffrey Green described the result as “creditable”.
“It’s not as if it’s 28 per cent,” he said, referring to last full year’s 28.5 per cent turnover growth, “but it’s not as if it’s flat – as I’m sure some firms will do. We’re happy about that, particularly given the geographic and practice mix of the revenue.”
The break down by geographic location was not yet available but Green said that it would probably have stayed at about the same level as it was in the previous year, with around 30 per cent coming from abroad.
Geoffrey Green will step down as senior partner to make way for senior partner-elect Charlie Geffen, and will be relocating to Hong Kong in February to ramp up the firm’s Asian practice, (The Lawyer, 24 September).
