He was ­previously a partner at Olswang. Allen recently acted for Reit asset management on its £635m portfolio ­acquisition from the administrators of the ­Dawnay Day property group. Prior to joining Olswang, Allen spent four years at Clifford Chance and five years at Norton Rose in the real estate ­division.



Baker & McKenzie has announced that Mark Carter will be joining its London office as chief financial officer. He has been London chief ­financial officer at Allen & Overy since 2004.

Browne Jacobson has expanded its insurance and public risk team with the appointment of Andrew Pieri as partner. He was formerly a ­partner at St Albans firm Debenhams Ottaway.

Pritchard Englefield has recruited corporate partner Mark Harden from Druces, where he was a partner.

Fladgate corporate partner Andrew ­Bretherton has joined Edwin Coe as a partner.

Agricultural assistant Kelly-Louise Kirby has moved to DWF in Leeds. She was previously with Harrowells in York.

Mishcon de Reya has recruited insolvency assistant Raza Khan from Nabarro, where he was an associate in the banking, finance and ­restructuring team.

Employment lawyer Robert Dillarstone has taken up the role of managing director at ­insurance firm Greenwoods Solicitors. He takes over from Shelagh Smith, who steps down after more than 10 years as managing director.

Stephens Scown has boosted its family team with the qualification of paralegal Chris Morse as a legal executive.


Birmingham firm The Wilkes Partnership has taken on Tim Coplestone as a property ­consultant. He was previously an associate with Eversheds.

Alsters Kelley has strengthened its litigation team by recruiting assistant Fiona Samuda from ­Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council.


Lancashire firm Harrison Drury has boosted commercial property in Blackburn with the hire of partner Iain Hall from Marsden Rawsthorn.

Pannone corporate assistant Anna Gregory has joined the in-house team of infrastructure support services company Enterprise as senior legal adviser.

K&L Gates has hired Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer partner Friedrich Hausmann as a ­partner in its Berlin regulatory practice.

Eversheds Paris of counsel Loretta Malintoppi has been appointed vice-president of the ICC International Court of Arbitration. London partner Stuart Dutson has also been appointed to the court as Australia’s alternative member.

Pinsent Masons has sent Birmingham ­partner Alan Wood to Dubai to head the firm’s corporate team in the region.


Hogan & Hartson has announced that former United States Trade Representative general counsel Warren Maruyama has rejoined the firm as a partner in its Washington DC office.

K&L Gates has hired Alexander Zolfaghari as a partner in its finance practice. He will maintain an office in Charlotte and New York and joins from Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal.

Morgan Lewis has hired five partners and six associates from Bingham McCutchen’s banking and leveraged finance group. Partners Robert Barry, Jonathan Bernstein, Sula Fiszman, Matthew Furlong and Sandra Vrejan join in Boston.
