White & Case raids Dewey for top energy team

White & Case has raided Dewey Ballantine in Washington DC for two of the US’s most prominent energy lawyers, including Dewey’s global head of energy markets and regulatory.

Earle O’Donnell, who was Dewey’s global practice head, will become head of White & Case’s energy practice. O’Donnell and Donna Attanasio both join White & Case’s energy, infrastructure and project finance practice in the capital. Both lawyers are rated for their work in electricity law.

O’Donnell represents clients in utility M&A, regional transmission organisation developments, transmission and interconnection issues, market-based rates, government audits and investigations, and state and federal regulatory issues of the electric utilities industry.

Attanasio is rated for power contract negotiation and advises developers of independent generation, electric utilities, energy marketers, transmission providers, and other utility service providers.

White & Case global co-head of the projects practice Troy Alexander said in a statement: “[O’Donnell and Attanasio’s] arrival is especially timely with the increased M&A and consolidation activity within the US energy sector.”
