Landwell corporate lawyer Leon Flavell has replaced Chris Arnheim as the accountancy-tied firm’s managing partner

Flavell, Landwell UK’s only other longstanding equity partner, will move into the top role while Arnheim, who had little success in growing Landwell during his seven-year tenure, will move to what the firm has termed a “full-time client role”.

Arnheim’s move to a fee-earning role is surprising, as he has never been a revenue generator, while Flavell, who previously spent around 60 per cent of his time fee-earning, is probably Landwell’s most respected partner.

Flavell told The Lawyer he would spend most of his time on client winning and less on day-to-day management issues than Arnheim did. “We’ve got some excellent partners and I don’t need to spend that much time managing,” he commented.

There have been few obvious successes during Arnheim’s tenure at Land-well UK, although this autumn the firm increased its equity partner count from three to five, adding former Theodore Goddard financial services partner Jennifer Donoghue and Mascent Insurance in-house lawyer Nigel Frudd.
