Clyde & Co has promoted four senior associates to its partnership, one more than last year .
Litigation was the biggest winner, with three of the four promotions. This is the first time in two years that anyone in dispute resolution has been made a partner.
Three of the four new partners – two in litigation and one in corporate – are based in the UK. The other is based in Singapore. All four will join the equity partnership on 1 May, bringing Clydes’ partnership total up to 147 with 89 equity partners.
Clydes has also made changes within the partnership itself, with six equity partners being promoted to senior equity partner level. All are based in London except Dubai-based litigator Chris Mills.
Senior partner Michael Payton said: “The appointments this year reflect a good spread of different groups and offices, both in the UK and overseas. The promotions reflect real progress in these areas, which is very pleasing.”
The associates being promoted to the equity are: Chris Edwards, dispute resolution, Singapore; Tim Foley, dispute resolution, Guildford; Simon Kemp, dispute resolution, London; and Simon Vere Nicoll, corporate, Guildford.
The six new senior equity partners are: Andrew Grant, insurance and reinsurance, London; Gavin Hill, aviation finance and leasing, London; John Leonida, yachts, London; John Morris, construction, London; Chris Mills, dispute resolution, Dubai; and Juliette Stevens, corporate, London.
