Ashurst has a new managing partner for its Dubai office, with corporate partner Nick Bryans taking over from incumbent Paul de Cordova.

The top 10 firm typically rotates heads of its international offices every few years.

Bryans relocated to Dubai last year when Ashurst put Dubai at the heart of its growth strategy.

Since then the office has hired Tahir Ahmed from Norton Rose.

Ashurst has also announced that it will open an Abu Dhabi office.

Energy partner David Wadham, who is currently based in Dubai, will spearhead the launch.

De Cordova will return to full-time fee-earning in the energy practice.

Bryans also intends to practise.
