Clifford Chance has restructured the management of its Spain branch, creating the new role of senior partner.
The move aligns the management structure of the Spain office with that of Clifford Chance’s other international offices.
Madrid managing partner Jaime de San Roman has become senior partner for Spain and is responsible for the strategic direction of the firm.
Ignacio Ojanguren remains the firm’s managing partner for Spain, but has secured a place on the firm’s global management committee in the shake-up.
Ojanguren’s role sees him concentrate on the everyday running of the firm.
Clifford Chance is the biggest UK firm in the region, reaching a turnover of ?54m (£35.6m) last year.
The firm has had nearly 40 lawyers working for 18 months on E.ON’s proposed ?27bn (£17.8bn) takeover of Endesa.
