DLA Piper is set to add to its empire of offices with a launch in Munich, in a bid to crack the German IP/IT market.
As first reported by The Lawyer last June, DLA Piper has been looking to add Munich to its German network of offices in Cologne, Hamburg and Frankfurt.
German managing partner Ulrich Jüngst confirmed that DLA Piper will send technology partner Thomas Jansen from Cologne to launch a Munich office in August.
Munich is host to the European Patent Office and is seen as a key city for IP and technology work.
DLA Piper already has a sizeable presence in Germany, with 22 partners and 64 associates.
