Martineau Johnson is launching a website aimed at matching high-tech entrepreneurs with venture capitalists.
The website, Go4dosh, is designed to allow those with ideas but a lack of funding to place a summary of their business plan on the internet. Potential investors can then be put in touch with them by contacting the firm.
Martineau Johnson partner Roger Blears, who is launching the website, says: “Every e-business needs a geek, a hippy and a ‘suit’ – in other words a scientist, a creative thinker and someone able to cut the mustard with merchant bankers.”
Twenty venture capitalists have already signed up, including Amadeus Capital Partners and Apax Partners.
Blears says: “Go4dosh is helping to fill the equity gap for a lot of entrepreneurs who may not be sure where to go to progress their business plans.
“It can be very difficult for entrepreneurs to network with one another or sit down and talk to a venture capitalist. This website breaks down the barriers and allows the dialogue to begin.”
