CMS, Nabarro and Olswang have confirmed that they will honour all training contract offers when the three firms merge.

All future trainees will still have a place at the new firm.

The firms have developed a “voluntary and incentivised deferral programme” and are offering trainee due to start in September 2017 £10,000 to defer the start of their training contract for six months until February 2018.

They will also offer the chance “to participate in a strategic CMS Corporate Social Responsibility project or study for a postgraduate qualification to which CMS will pay £5,000 towards course fees.”

CMS managing partner Stephen Millar, said: “We are delighted to honour all training contracts and we aim to do so in a way which ensures the best possible experience for all during their training contract, and the broadest possible spectrum of opportunities upon qualification. We are very willing and able to accommodate all future trainees within the intake they originally planned to join.”

The leadership teams of CMS, Olswang and Nabarro confirmed they were in three-way merger talks at the end of September.
