What was your first job?

Bartender on a luxury cruise ship in the Caribbean.

What subjects did you fail at school?

Mathematics – the accounts department are my best friends.

What was your first ever salary as a lawyer?

300 zlotychs.

What would you have done if you hadn't been a lawyer?

A vet.

What was your most satisfying professional moment?

Becoming qualified in English Law – after having done it all before in Poland.

What was your most embarrassing professional moment?

In my old firm when I first started, mistaking a senior partner for a window cleaner.

What do you least like about being a lawyer?

Getting out of bed in the morning – I love sleeping.

And the best thing about being a lawyer?

Challenge and the satisfaction of a job well done.

What annoys you most about clients?

There are too many of them, but perhaps that's really a good thing.

Who do you most admire, and why?

The Pope – for his stamina and energy to be able to perform his duties at such an age.

Which famous person or historical figure would be your ideal client, and why?

Donald Trump – lots of commercial conveyancing.

What is your most annoying habit?

Have none – probably my husband would not agree.

What is your biggest fear?

Flying – complete terror, anxiety, panic etc.

How do you relax?

Pottering about in my garden, feeding the birds – I have been anglicised.

What is your most precious possession?

My husband – or so he tells me.

Where would you most like to be right now?

Content here in Devon.

In 10 years time where do you see yourself?

Driving in as prestigious a car as my boss presently owns.
