Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has appointed 14 new partners in its 2013 promotion round, including six in its London office.
Although the total number of promotions is six lower than last year (28 March 2012), one more associate has been promoted in the City than in 2012 when five London-based lawyers were made up.
Freshfields’ dispute resolution team gains the most new partners, with five contentious lawyers promoted – two in New York and one in each of the Hong Kong, London and Paris offices. Of the five, three new partners specialise in international arbitration.
Three tax lawyers are promoted, in Düsseldorf, London and Hamburg, and two corporate lawyers in London. The rest of the promotions are shared between the firm’s competition, corporate finance, employment and finance practices.
The focus on dispute resolution is a shift from 2012, when nine corporate lawyers and five in finance were made up.
A total of three female associates are promoted, the same number as in 2012.
