Olswang promotes three to partnership

Olswang has added three lawyers into its partnership ranks, down from five in 2011 and 2012.

The current crop consists of London-based Nick Crosbie and Matthew Phillips as well as Christoph Enaux, who is based in the firm’s Berlin office. Between them, they bolster the partnership’s expertise in the firm’s core media and TMT sectors.

Nick Crosbie, who started out at the firm as a trainee in 2002, said: “I’m really chuffed. The reason I’ve been promoted is to focus on a couple of the firm’s growth business areas – the media sector and the leisure industry.”

Over the past year his client list has been bolstered by the addition of global sports, fashion and media company IMG Media, and he’s completed notable corporate deals for Soho House and Dubai-owned travel and tourism business dnata.

As a content and technology-focused lawyer, Phillips joined Olswang in 1999, becoming a partner in 2006. In the second half of 2011 Matthew spent a period in-house at BSkyB, as a senior lawyer in Sky’s content and copyright legal team. He has a particular focus on broadcasting and digital media.

Berlin-based Enaux has a practice that spans telecoms, media regulatory and competition law. He leads the firm’s digital real estate practice, where the firm addresses topics like in-house cable and telecoms infrastructures and technology-based property management.

The promotions will come into effect on 1 May.
