Clifford Chance's London office is ushering in the new generation of management as Jeremy Sandelson takes over the reins of the UK litigation and dispute resolution group

Sandelson, who will serve a four-year term, will take over from John Potts, who oversaw the group for three years. It is understood that Potts originally stood for re-election but withdrew from the race shortly afterwards, leaving Sandelson, the only other candidate, to assume the role.
Elsewhere in the London office, David Pearson has taken over as head of corporate from Matthew Layton. Robin Tremaine will oversee the UK tax group after Douglas French stepped up to become global tax, pensions and employment practice area leader last year.
In real estate, Cliff McAuley, who became global head, maintains responsibility for the UK operation.
London banking and capital markets heads are yet to be decided.
