Lord Chancellor underlines commitment to Law Commission

The Lord Chancellor, Lord Falconer, announced on Friday (29 October) that Hugh Beale QC has been reappointed as a Law Commissioner for a second term.

Beale is a professor of law at Warwick University and was appointed as honorary silk in 2002. He specialises in contract law.

Lord Falconer said the appointment underlined the value he placed on the Law Commission and on Beale’s contribution to its work.

The Law Commission reviews the laws of England and Wales, with the power to recommend reform where it is needed. Beale is one of five commissioners.
