LK Shields called in on racehorse wrangle

Dublin firm LK Shields is advising Sir Alex Ferguson on a dispute over the Manchester United manager’s racehorse Rock of Gibraltar.

Litigation partner Ed Butler, one of the 15-partner firm’s founders, confirmed that he was advising Ferguson, but refused to give any details of the case.

It is believed to centre on the manager’s share of the horse’s stud value, estimated at up to e120m (£83.8m). No proceedings have as yet been issued.
