Former Coudert partner quits DLA’s Belgian practice for De Wolf

Osborne Clarke’s Belgian alliance firm De Wolf & Partners has hired DLA Piper corporate partner Yves Tavernier and three lawyers.

Tavernier joins De Wolf after more than five years at DLA Piper. He joined the firm from Coudert Brothers in 2005, bringing a team of seven partners and over 20 fee-earners (23 September 2005). He was DLA Piper’s Belgian managing partner from joining until 2007 (11 December 2007).

In the past five years the office has grown to over 30 partners and around 100 lawyers.

Tavernier’s practice focuses on corporate transactions and associated litigation for Belgian and other European companies. Tavernier was also a deputy judge in Ghent’s commercial court between 1990 and 2005.

The hires bring De Wolf’s partnership to 16 and the firm said it was planning to build up to 75 lawyers within the next 18 months. As well as its main Brussels office, De Wolf also has an associated office in Luxembourg and a presence in Shanghai.
