Eversheds chief operating officer and finance director Kathryn Fleming is leaving the firm after 10 years.

It is not yet known where Fleming will resurface, although a spokesperson for Eversheds said she was “not going to a competitor”. She will stay at the firm until early next year.

Eversheds has not yet hired Fleming’s replacement.

Fleming joined Eversheds in 2006, becoming finance director and joining the senior management board three years later. She took on the role of COO in 2014.

Eversheds chief executive Bryan Hughes said Fleming “played an instrumental role in creating the strong, robust, financial platform that Eversheds enjoys today”.

The firm broke the £400m revenue mark for the first time in 2015/16, with turnover up 6.5 per cent to £405.5m.

Net profit remained flat at £87.5m but average profit per equity partner (PEP) inched up to £742,000.

The firm will see further changes to its senior management team in the coming year as Hughes prepares to step down as CEO next May. Current managing partner Lee Ranson is widely considered the favourite for the top job, while company commercial head Keith Froud is understood to have thrown his hat into the ring for the managing partner role.
