Kemp Little launches patent litigation practice

Technology firm Kemp Little has launched an IP litigation practice with the hire of a senior associate from White & Case.

Paul Garland joins the firm as a partner in mid-April and will advise the firm’s technology clients on patent litigation and trade mark portfolio management.

Senior partner Richard Kemp said: “We did a strategy review last year and spoke to clients who said they’d like to see us broaden the practice areas.”

He added: “I think we see litigation developing as one of our key practice areas.”

Kemp Little has also strengthened its corporate and employment groups with the promotions of Andy Moseby and Chris Middleton to the partnership.

At the same time, commercial technology partner Paul O’Hare became the firm’s fifth equity partner.

Kemp said: “Making another equity partner in our practice is quite significant.”
