Keep local firms local

It was refreshing to receive my copy of The Lawyer and discover that the front page led with a story about Birmingham, albeit about competition moving on to my turf.

Birmingham is thriving and we are ready for the challenge that US firms are going to pose. It was only a matter of time before they began spreading up from London to Birmingham, which many consider to be the second legal city of the UK, and we are prepared to take them on.

The professionalism, high specialist standards and client loyalty here is second to none and US lawyers may be shocked to find that it could be harder to establish themselves here than in London, which has always had a transient population.
