Childs completes CC management team

Clifford Chance has continued its management shake-up confirming the appointment of Chris Perrin and David Harkness to the firm’s management team.

The appointments, which will take effect from 1 May, follow the completion of a partnership vote for the two roles which were created after the position of chief operating officer was split to create two executive partner roles, one in finance and one as a general counsel.

Perrin has been re-appointed as general counsel for a further four years, while Harkness takes up the role of executive finance partner for a two-year period.

Harkness’ role is intended to take approximately 50 per cent of his time with the remainder devoted to fee earning. He is also global head of the tax, pensions and employment practice.

The appointments will coincide with David Childs officially taking over as global managing partner on 1 May.

At the same time, London regional chief operating officer Amanda Burton has been appointed global head of business services.

Burton will continue her existing role and will be responsible for all business services operations other than finance and business development. She will also take over chairmanship of the firm’s global operations group from Childs.
