Camerons’ partner appointments dip to four

Only four associates at CMS Cameron McKenna made partner this year, the lowest count in four years.

Just two partners were made up in London, capital markets lawyer Will Dibble and financial services specialist Ash Saluja.

Last year the firm made three promotions and one lateral hire in the London office. London usually dominates the UK partnership elections, and the firm’s Bristol office has only seen two new partners since 2003.

In Eastern Europe, Camerons elected Erika Papp as a partner in the banking and international finance department in Budapest, and Pawel Pietkiewicz in the dispute resolution practice in Warsaw. Camerons has seen steady growth in Poland, with a new partner promoted there every year since 2003.

The drop in new partner numbers is significant for Camerons, as the firm has traditionally grown organically rather than through lateral hires.

Of the 21 partners appointed in the past three years, all but three were internal promotions and two of the three lateral hires had previously worked at the firm.
