DLA Piper has revamped its leadership by combining the roles of UK regional managing partner and London regional managing partner under a new UK head.

Europe, the Middle East and Africa (Emea) employment chief David Bradley will become the UK managing partner in January next year. The current regional managing partner Paul Firth will retire from the partnership and become a consultant at the firm. London managing partner Catherine Usher will remain as managing partner of the City office.

The firm said the change would allow for a single reporting structure. DLA Piper has also appointed Milan-based partner Olaf Schmidt as Emea head of real estate, taking over from David Taylor, who will return to practise in the London property group.
