Ex-policeman sues Russell Jones Walker

London firm Russell Jones & Walker is being sued by a former Metropolitan Police constable who claims the firm failed to properly represent him in court.

The claim has been issued against the firm alleging it failed to interview key witnesses and did not get enough evidence to properly defend the policeman.

The former officer Robin Kelly was sacked by the Met for dishonesty, following his 1993 conviction over allegations he falsely claimed housing allowance from the force.

Kelly says he was out of work for four years after being dismissed and is claiming loss of earnings, costs and compensation bringing the total damages claim to £100,526.

A spokesman for Russell Jones & Walker says: “We refute these allegations. Whilst we recognise Mr Kelly's disappointment, it is questionable why it has taken six years to complain. The allegations have only recently been made, and will be defended.”
