Hammonds has made up a record number of new partners as it prepares for the end of its 14-month equity partner lock-in in June.
A total of 17 associates are being promoted to partnership, two more than in 2005. The firm’s UK offices gain 11 new partners, and there are also promotions in Berlin, Madrid and Hong Kong.
The employment, corporate and finance departments benefit the most from the promotions, each with five new partners. This is a rise from 2005 when three corporate partners and one in finance were made up, with no promotions in employment.
For the third year running the pensions team is boosted by two partners.
Hammonds’ profitable Leeds office sees the bulk of the UK promotions with four new partners. In London three associates are made up, while Birmingham and Manchester both see two promotions.
The Berlin office wins the bulk of the foreign promotions, picking up one employment partner, one corporate partner and two finance partners.
