A 46 year-old professor who specialises in civil liberties has been appointed principal of the Inns of Court School of Law. Richard Stone replaces the current dean, Mary Phillips, on 1 September. Previously dean of Nottingham Law School at Nottingham Trent University, Stone is a distinguished academic and the author of six books and several articles.
