Garretts loses third partner in a month

Corporate finance partner Roland Todd is joining the Leeds office of Dibb Lupton Alsop in January.

His departure comes two weeks after the founder of Garretts' Manchester office, head of banking Susan Molloy, announced she was leaving for Halliwell Landau.

Share scheme partner Shabnam Qasim also announced his departure for PricewaterhouseCoopers' Birmingham practice.

But Garretts' senior partner Richard Bonner is at pains to down-play Todd's departure.

He says: "Roland has been part of our corporate team for several years but people do move on."

Head of Dibbs' corporate team in Leeds Alastair Da Costa comments: "Roland is an acknowledged corporate finance expert and his appointment is a significant development."

Earlier this year, Dibbs poached the founder and head of the corporate development practice at Garretts, partner Stephen Devlin (The Lawyer 19 July 1999)
