Corporate deals round-up

Addleshaw Goddard (Matthew Flinton, Ben Feather) advised B&Q Properties on the sale of the entire issued share capital of Chartwell Land Shopping Centres and its subsidiary Leicester Centre Properties to Bradstyle for £37m. Taylor Wessing acted for Bradstyle.

Travers Smith Braithwaite (Andrew Roberts, Julian Bass) represented existing client Bank of Scotland Joint Ventures and Beechcroft UK in the Bank of Scotland’s debt and equity-backed management buyout of Beechcroft from John Laing Homes for £48.5m. The management team was advised by Osborne Clarke, with Pinsent Curtis Biddle acting for John Laing Homes.

Herbert Smith (Mark Turner, Michael Davis) advised National Air Traffic Services (Nats) on its contract with Raytheon Systems to replace its entire UK radar network over the next 10 years for £75m. Raytheon Systems was advised in-house.

CMS Cameron McKenna (Louise Wallace) acted for Meridien Hotels on the sale of the Hotel Ritz in Madrid for £125m to a 50-50 joint venture between hotel operator Orient-Express and Omega Capital, a Spanish investment company. Uría & Menéndez advised Meridien on Spanish legal issues. Richards Butler represented the purchasers, with Cuatrecasas advising on Spanish legal issues. Baker & MacKenzie also advised Omega Capital.

Charles Russell (Michael Scott, Adam Dowdney, Andrew Clason) represented Reuse Collections on its acquisition of glass collection business Valient Materials from Valpak. Allen & Overy advised Valpak.

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (Nikolaus Schrader, Michael Esser-Wellie) acted for Deutsche Bank on the e510m (£362.8m) sale of Tele Columbus to BC Partners. Luther Menold represented BC Partners.

Matheson Ormsby Prentice (Robert Heron, Tim Scanlon) advised Nesbitt Acquisitions on its indicative offer of £250m for the publicly-listed Irish retail group Arnotts. William Fry acted for Arnotts.
