ABN Amro hunts for new Asian compliance chief

ABN Amro’s Asian compliance chief and head of legal in Hong Kong
has resigned from the Dutch banking giant.
Carmel Breadner is due relocate to Portugal with her family.
Tony Corcoran, ABN Amro’s head of legal for Asia Pacific, will step into Breadner's role on a temporary basis.
Laurie Adams, the bank’s global head of legal and compliance, said that a decision has not yet been made as to who will replace Breadner permanently.
Breadner was put in charge of compliance issues for all products throughout Asia as well as being put in charge of legal in Hong Kong after Adams joined ABN Amro in November 2000.
He commented: “We were sorry to lose Carmel and are grateful for her contribution in developing compliance in Hong Kong and the region. We wish her all the best for her new life in Portugal.”
Breadner was also ABN Amro’s Asia equities counsel.
