Harold Brako

Addleshaw Goddard

Harold Brako has a lot of day jobs. As co-head of the financial services group at Addleshaw Goddard, he oversees the biggest sector in the firm while running his own thriving litigation practice that has lately been expanding from a core client base of banks and asset-based lenders to include private equity houses.

And then there’s his role leading the firm’s Africa Business Group, which generates millions in fee income for Addleshaws through astute cultivation of relationships with both local firms and corporates, particularly in Ghana, Nigeria and Kenya. Brako, who arrived at Addleshaws in 2017, after having taken Shoosmiths’ Manchester office from six to 188 people, has helped inject a frontier spirit into Manchester’s most establishment firm. With his three-year stint as office head coming to an end, Brako is lending his voice to diversity and inclusion initiatives inside and outside the business. As a newly-elected board member, Brako is a key part of the generation of partners shaping Addleshaws’ future.
